Pop Star Sabrina Carpenter Delights Fans with Christmas Eve Bonus Track Drop

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter surprised her fans on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24, with a special holiday gift. The 26-year-old artist officially released “Man’s Best Friend (Bonus Track Version)” across all streaming platforms. This special edition includes the track “Such a Funny Way,” which had been previously shared with fans.
Carpenter took to Instagram to express her gratitude, stating, “To thank you for such a beautiful year …and to supply whoever needs a cathartic christmas crashout song… Man’s best friend bonus track edition with one of my favorites ‘Such a Funny Way’ is now officially available on streaming.” She further conveyed her appreciation, adding, “I love you guys so much. Thank you for caring for these songs the way i do and for such a special 2025!! I feel lucky to know there’s still so much good to come x.” In addition to the bonus track edition, Carpenter also unveiled a lyric video for “Such a Funny Way” on YouTube.
The original “Man’s Best Friend” album was initially launched on August 29. It achieved significant success, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart in September, marking Carpenter’s second chart-topping release, following her 2024 album, “Short n’ Sweet.” The track “Such a Funny Way” has had a varied release history; it was previously available as a digital download bundled with the “Man’s Best Friend” album for $7.99 and, prior to that, was exclusively part of the album’s vinyl deluxe edition.
During an interview on Apple Music 1 with Zane Lowe, the Grammy-winning singer shared the inspiration behind “Such a Funny Way.” She discussed her interpretation of humor, noting, “I interpret humor, obviously, in a light way, but it’s also used to cover something and it’s used to definitely cope with things and not always in the best way.” Carpenter revealed that she had faced challenges in past relationships where partners requested her to “Be serious.” She explained that sometimes, using humor can make difficult situations feel “less mean or hurtful or spiteful,” which can be both a positive and negative coping mechanism. Although not featured on the original album, “Such a Funny Way” serves as the closing track, ending with the poignant lyrics, “So funny that I have to laugh just so I don’t cry.”
