Pop King Justin Bieber Achieves Unprecedented YouTube Record

Pop music sensationJustin Bieber has once again etched his name in YouTube history, with his iconic "Sorry" music video officially surpassing an astounding 4 billion views on the platform. This monumental achievement was announced on Thursday, September 4th, marking a significant milestone for the artist.
Released in 2015, the "Sorry" music video is distinctive for its creative approach: Bieber himself does not appear in the clip. Instead, it features a vibrant ensemble of dancers, performing intricate and energetic choreography devised by the acclaimed dance starParris Goebel. The video's unique style and infectious energy have clearly resonated with audiences globally, contributing to its enduring popularity.

This remarkable feat places "Sorry" among an elite group, as it is only one of 15 music videos ever to have crossed the 4 billion views threshold on YouTube. Leading this exclusive club is Luis Fonsi’s "Despacito," featuring Daddy Yankee, which boasts an incredible 8.8 billion views. While Bieber famously collaborated on a remix of "Despacito"that topped the Billboard Hot 100, his version is not part of the original blockbuster music video that achieved such massive viewership.
"Sorry," a standout track from Bieber's 2015 album "Purpose," also holds significant chart success. It marked the singer's second career No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, following "What Do You Mean?" which reached the summit earlier in September 2015. The song was a collaborative effort, co-written by Bieber, Justin Tranter, and Julia Michaels, and co-produced by Skrillex and Bloodpop.
Bieber's history with YouTube records dates back to 2010 when his "Baby" video became the most-watched YouTube video ever, surpassing Lady Gaga’s "Bad Romance." He maintained this record until November 2012, when Psy’s "Gangnam Style" took the crown, subsequently becoming the first YouTube video to break the 1 billion views barrier.

Beyond "Sorry," Bieber commands a strong presence in YouTube's Billion Views Club with five other videos: "Baby" (2010) with 3.4 billion views, "What Do You Mean?" (2015) with 2.2 billion views, "Love Yourself" (2015) with 1.7 billion views, "Never Say Never" featuring Jaden Smith (2010) with 1.2 billion views, and "Beauty and a Beat" featuring Nicki Minaj (2012) with 1.1 billion views. Demonstrating his ongoing creative output, Bieber also surprised fans on the same Thursday with the announcement of a second 2025 album, "Swag II," set for release at midnight, following the July 11th release of "Swag."
