Political Storm Erupts: Ex-Gov El-Rufai Claims DSS Attempted Airport Abduction!

Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has made explosive allegations of an orchestrated abduction attempt against him at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, upon his return from Cairo, Egypt. El-Rufai claimed that the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, personally ordered his arrest, and further alleged a conspiracy involving Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani and the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to unlawfully detain him.

During interviews with Arise Television, El-Rufai detailed the Thursday incident, stating that Department of State Services (DSS) operatives approached him at the airport. He recounted demanding a formal letter of invitation, which was not produced, despite observing approximately 50 DSS operatives present. He asserted his rights as a citizen, refusing to be compelled without due process.
