Political Earthquake! APC Dissolves All LG, Ward Excos in Enugu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu State has embarked on significant repositioning efforts, announcing the dissolution of all local government and ward executives within the party. This directive was conveyed by Dr. Ben Nwoye, Chairman of the caretaker committee of APC in the state, during the Enugu West Senatorial District Stakeholder meeting held at the Golden Royal Hotel in Enugu.
Dr. Nwoye clarified that this decisive action aligns with a directive from the National Working Committee (NWC) to thoroughly reorganize the party in Enugu State. He emphasized the crucial need for unity, stating, “We must embrace unity and make it our watchword. Nobody is bigger than the party, we are all equal whether you joined today or yesterday, we are all equal.” He further explained that the decision, an integral part of their mandate, was made in the best interest of the party, as investigations revealed numerous individuals laying claim to chairmanship positions at both ward and local government levels.
In a move towards modernization, Dr. Nwoye also announced that the APC is going digital, introducing an e-registration process. This initiative is slated to be flagged off by the National Chairman of the party in Owerri, Imo State, on Monday, and party members are encouraged to embrace this new opportunity.
Adding to the discourse, Fidelia Njeze, a member of the caretaker committee and former Minister of Aviation, reiterated the importance of unity. She underscored the committee's mandate to unify the party in Enugu State and urged organizers to expand future meetings to accommodate more members, stressing the need to open arms and welcome everyone to strengthen the party.
A communique, read by Barrister Godwin Onwusi, encapsulated the stakeholders' resolutions. They pledged their unwavering support for President Bola Tinubu and committed to his re-election campaign in 2027. Furthermore, the stakeholders expressed their support for Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, to potentially join the APC. The National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC was also commended for its decision to dissolve the party’s leadership in Enugu State and for the strategic appointment of Dr. Ben Nwoye as interim chairman and Eugene Odoh as interim secretary.
