Police in Entebbe Division have initiated an investigation into a suspected case of double murder and aggravated robbery following the death of an elderly couple in Lugonjo-Nakiwogo Cell, Entebbe Municipality, Wakiso District.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, said the case was reported on July 6, 2025, by a domestic worker attached to the home of the victims, identified as David Mutaaga, 69 and his wife, Deborah Florence Mutaaga, 62.

The two were found dead inside their residence with fatal stab wounds.

"Police officers who responded to the scene documented the crime scene and collected several exhibits, which have since been submitted for forensic analysis,"Mr Owoyesigyire said.

ASP Owoyesigyire said the bodies were later transferred to the City Mortuary at Mulago, Kampala for postmortem examination as investigations continue.

While the motive behind the gruesome attack remains unknown, police say all leads are being pursued and efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators.

“We strongly condemn this heinous act and wish to reassure the public of our commitment to ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice,” ASP Owoyesigyire stated.

The police have promised to provide further updates as more details emerge. Information separately obtained by this reporter indicate that the couple returned to the country for retirement recently after living in the diaspora for over 30 years.
