Playboi Carti Shuts Down LA with Surprise Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky Cameos

Playboi Carti's Antagonist 2.0 Tour delivered a memorable and star-studded spectacle at its Los Angeles stop, transforming the Crypto.com Arena into a vibrant scene of hip-hop excitement on Tuesday night, October 14. The Atlanta native, also known as King Vamp, was joined on stage by prominent figures in the music industry, including A$AP Rocky and Kendrick Lamar, creating an electrifying atmosphere for the devoted fans and the Opium crew alike.
The evening featured a dynamic appearance from A$AP Rocky, who famously signed Playboi Carti to his AWGE label. Rocky energized the crowd as Carti performed “Long Time,” a fan-favorite from his acclaimed 2018 album Die Lit. The moment underscored both the deep-rooted connections within the hip-hop community and the lasting influence of Carti’s mentors.
A major highlight of the night was the surprise guest appearance by Kendrick Lamar, which sent the audience into an absolute frenzy. This performance marked a significant moment of reciprocation, as Carti had previously joined Lamar on stage during the Atlanta stop of his Grand National Tour in April. Lamar joined Carti for a rendition of “GOOD CREDIT,” captivating the crowd with his powerful lines, “You know what this is/ The vamps and the boogies/ We jugg through the party,” delivered amidst a sea of moshing fans and flashing iPhone lights.
The track “GOOD CREDIT,” produced by Cardo, has achieved notable commercial success, reaching No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 and securing a spot within the top 10 of the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Kendrick Lamar's live appearances are known to be rare and typically reserved for special occasions, making his participation in Carti's tour a truly exceptional event, especially as Lamar is currently on a break from his Grand National Tour, which is slated to resume in Australia in December.
Beyond the Los Angeles show, Playboi Carti’s Antagonist 2.0 Tour, with a feature from Ken Carson and Destroy Lonely, presses on with upcoming stops in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Denver, St. Paul, Brooklyn, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Nashville, before closing with a hometown performance in Atlanta this December. Fans are also eagerly awaiting new music, as Carti has repeatedly teased his forthcoming album Baby Boi. While no release date has been announced, DJ Swamp Izzo confirmed back in April that the project was “done,” further fueling anticipation for its eventual drop
