This visa-free facility is broadly available, covering all major points of entry into the country, which include international airports, seaports, and various cruise terminals. This policy is effective immediately and supersedes previous guidelines issued in 2010 under FSC 22-10, remaining in place until further notice.

The DFA has stipulated several important conditions attached to this visa-free admission. Notably, the 14-day stay is non-extendable, and it cannot be converted into other visa categories once the visitor is in the Philippines. Furthermore, individuals wishing to avail themselves of this facility must not possess any derogatory records with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration. It is also important for transit passengers, i.e., those travelling to other countries via the Philippines, to note that they may still be required to apply for a Philippine transit visa if their itinerary necessitates it.

To be eligible for visa-free entry, Indian nationals must satisfy specific requirements at their port of entry in the Philippines. These prerequisites include holding a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the intended period of stay. Travellers must also provide proof of confirmed hotel accommodation or booking for their stay in the country. Additionally, they need to demonstrate sufficient financial capacity, which can be done through a bank statement or a certificate of employment. Lastly, a confirmed return ticket or an onward ticket to their next country of destination is mandatory.

This strategic move by the Philippine government is anticipated to yield multiple benefits. For instance, Georgia has recently reinforced its commitment to welcoming Indian travellers through more accessible travel guidelines, as announced by the Georgian National Tourism Administration (GNTA).

Indian passport holders can now visit Georgia visa-free if they possess a valid visa from the United States, United Kingdom, a Schengen country, or Japan. For those Indian nationals who do not hold one of these specified visas, Georgia offers a straightforward visa application process, with clear instructions provided on the necessary documentation. The GNTA encourages Indian visitors to utilize official platforms for their visa applications and to ensure that all their documents are correctly prepared and in order to facilitate a smooth travel experience.

These initiatives by countries like the Philippines and Georgia reflect a growing trend towards easing travel restrictions for Indian nationals.
