Phil Foden Signs New Manchester City Contract Until 2030

Phil Foden has ended speculation over his future by signing a new four-year contract with Manchester City, committing himself to the Premier League champions until the summer of 2030.

The new deal keeps one of City's most successful academy graduates at the Etihad as the club begins a new chapter under manager Enzo Maresca. Announcing the extension, Foden said continuing with his boyhood club was "an unbelievable feeling" and thanked the club, his teammates and supporters for their continued faith in him.

Reward for Years of Success

Since making his senior debut under Pep Guardiola in 2017, Foden has become one of the most decorated players in Manchester City's history.

The 26-year-old has won six Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, three FA Cups and several other major honours while establishing himself as a key figure during the club's most successful era.

His latest contract reflects City's confidence that he will remain central to the team's future despite a difficult campaign last season.

Fresh Start Under Maresca

Foden endured a frustrating 2025/26 season, struggling for consistent form and missing out on England's squad for the FIFA World Cup.

Despite those setbacks, the midfielder said the arrival of Enzo Maresca played an important role in his decision to stay. Having previously worked together during City's Treble-winning campaign, Foden believes the Italian coach can help him return to his best.

City's director of football, Hugo Viana, described Foden as a unique talent whose best years are still ahead of him.

Eyes on Another Trophy Challenge

With his future now settled, Foden's focus turns to helping Manchester City compete for domestic and European honours once again.

The new contract also provides stability for both player and club as City prepare for their first full season under Maresca, with Foden expected to play a leading role in the team's plans.

More on Foden's England career is available through The Football Association.
