Pete Davidson Set to Become a Dad: Expecting First Child with Elsie Hewitt

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are joyfully expecting their first child together. Hewitt made the exciting announcement on Wednesday, July 16, taking to Instagram to share the news with a series of intimate photos and videos, including ultrasound footage of their baby. Her playful caption, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex,” humorously confirmed their journey to parenthood. Davidson later confirmed the news himself in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22, expressing immense excitement for this new chapter.

Davidson has long expressed his dream of becoming a father. In a 2022 chat with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, he stated, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He added his enthusiasm for dressing up a child and preparing to be a good father. This sentiment was echoed in his recent statements, where he shared, “I honestly couldn’t be more excited. It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.” On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson reflected on how his perspective has shifted, noting, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.” The passing of his father, a New York City firefighter, on September 11, 2001, when Pete was just seven years old, has significantly shaped his views on fatherhood.

The couple was first publicly linked in March, as reported by the Associated Press. While Pete is not active on social media, Elsie occasionally shared glimpses of their relationship, maintaining a relatively private profile—a stark contrast to Davidson’s past high-profile romances. Friends and family have shared their congratulations. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own recent experience of welcoming a daughter. Elsie’s best friend, model Meredith Mickelson, also shared her excitement, and a source for E! News claimed that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” to become a grandma.

Elsie Hewitt has also been open about her personal health struggles, specifically with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and later discussed her symptoms and the impact of the pain on her life and career in a TikTok video in December. Despite these challenges, the couple embraces their upcoming parenthood with visible joy and anticipation.
