Pete Davidson's Paternity Joy: Comedian Embraces Fatherhood Amidst Baby News with Elsie Hewitt

Comedian Pete Davidson and model Elsie Hewitt are preparing for their biggest roles yet: parenthood. On Wednesday, July 16, Hewitt took to Instagram to announce that she and Davidson are expecting their first child together. Her post featured several photos of the couple and videos from an ultrasound, captioned cheekily, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex.” The announcement was a very on-brand reveal for Hewitt, who has largely kept her relationship with Davidson private.
Davidson, 31, and Hewitt, 29, were first spotted together publicly in March, according to the Associated Press. While their relationship has remained mostly under the radar, a stark contrast to Davidson’s past high-profile romances, Hewitt occasionally shared images and videos of their time together on social media. Elsie also made their relationship Instagram official with a candid photo of Pete days after they were first linked.
Fatherhood has long been a cherished dream for Pete Davidson. In a 2022 conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart, Davidson expressed, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He elaborated on his excitement for this new chapter, stating, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.”
Following Hewitt’s announcement, Davidson confirmed the news and gushed about impending fatherhood in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22. “I honestly couldn’t be more excited,” Pete shared. “It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.” During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Davidson reflected on his emotional journey, noting, “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore. It’s nice.” Davidson’s father, a New York City firefighter, tragically passed away on September 11, 2001, when Pete was just seven years old, a loss he has often spoken about throughout his career.
The announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own daughter with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox. MGK had previously revealed in a 2022 chat with Howard Stern that Davidson would be a groomsman in his wedding, highlighting their strong bond.
Elsie’s best friend, model Meredith Mickelson, also shared her joy, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete,” later adding, “HEHEHEHEHEHE. I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.” Additionally, a source for E! News reported that Davidson’s mother, Amy Waters, is “thrilled” about the pregnancy, eager to become a grandma.
Elsie Hewitt has been open about her personal health journey, specifically her struggle with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and spoke out on TikTok in December about the symptoms and pain she has experienced, noting how it has impacted her career and daily life.
