Pete Davidson's Joyous Journey to Fatherhood with Elsie Hewitt

Comedian Pete Davidson, 31, and model Elsie Hewitt, 29, are eagerly preparing for their biggest roles yet: parenthood. Hewitt took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 16, to announce that she and Davidson are expecting their first child together. The announcement included a series of intimate photos of the couple and videos from an ultrasound, captioned cheekily by Hewitt, “Welp now everyone knows we had sex.”
Davidson, who does not use social media, later confirmed the joyous news in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on July 22, expressing immense excitement. He stated, “I honestly couldn’t be more excited. It’s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby’s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever. She’s going to be a great mom and I’m just stoked. I hope to be the dad I hoped that I would have.” This sentiment aligns with his past conversations, including a 2022 chat with fellow comedian Kevin Hart where he revealed, “My favorite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, is I want to have a kid. It’s like my dream.” He elaborated on his aspirations for fatherhood, saying, “It would be so fun to dress up a little dude. I’m so excited for, like, that chapter. So that’s kind of what I’m just preparing for now. I’m trying to be as good as a dude and develop and get better so when that happens, it’s just easier.”
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on the same night, Davidson further reflected on his emotional journey, noting how his perspective has shifted since discovering he would become a father. “Everything else doesn’t really matter anymore,” he shared, adding, “It’s nice.” Pete’s father, a New York City firefighter, tragically died during the September 11 attacks in 2001 when Pete was just 7 years old, a loss he has frequently discussed throughout his career. His mother, Amy Waters, is reportedly “thrilled” about the pregnancy, with a source for E! News claiming, “She can’t wait to become a grandma!”
The couple has maintained a relatively private relationship over the past four months, a stark contrast to some of Davidson’s more headline-making romances. According to the Associated Press, they were first spotted together publicly in March. Hewitt has occasionally shared glimpses of their time together on social media, making things Instagram official shortly after they were linked. Despite their low-key approach, both have had previous high-profile relationships, with Hewitt linked to figures such as Ryan Phillippe, Benny Blanco, and Jason Sudeikis.
The pregnancy announcement was met with an outpouring of congratulations from friends and fans. Rapper Machine Gun Kelly, a close friend of Davidson, commented on Hewitt’s post, “These playdates bout to hittttt,” referencing his own recent experience of welcoming a daughter with ex-girlfriend Megan Fox earlier this year. MGK had previously mentioned Davidson would be a groomsman in his wedding, highlighting their strong bond. Hewitt’s best friend, model Meredith Mickelson, also expressed her excitement, writing, “My bestie is having my mini bestie which means my life is complete,” and later adding, “I’M SO HAPPY. BEST MOMMY EVERRRRR.”
Elsie Hewitt has also been open about her personal health struggles, specifically with endometriosis. She underwent surgery for the condition in November and later discussed her symptoms, pain, and the impact on her career on TikTok in December. Hewitt noted the amount of opportunities she lost due to her condition, emphasizing the progressive worsening of her symptoms over the years. This new chapter of motherhood marks a significant and joyful development for both Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt.
