It's a turbulent day at Philadelphia International Airport with more than 200 flight delays and 60 cancellations reported, according to FlightAware.

The Federal Aviation Administration's National Airspace System Status indicated PHL experienced a ground stop for American Airlines and subsidiary airlines' flights that was later lifted early Saturday afternoon. It appeared the ground stop went into effect just before 11:50 a.m. Saturday.

"Systems have returned after a brief electrical issue at Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). Our teams worked quickly with the airport's electricians to resolve the issue, and we apologize to our customers for the inconvenience," a spokesperson for American Airlines told CBS News Philadelphia in a statement.

According to American Airlines, three flights were canceled due to a brief electrical issue. The airline urges customers to check their flight status online or in the company's app before traveling to PHL.

Data from FlightAware, a flight tracking website, shows 88 American Airlines flights have been delayed and 32 have been canceled so far on Saturday. A representative for American Airlines said some of the delays are connected to lingering weather impacts from Friday. There were also delays on Piedmont Airlines, an American Airlines subsidiary.

The current total number of flight delays within, into or out of Philadelphia International Airport stands at 224, with 69 cancellations.
