Osun 2026: Adeleke Poised for Victory, New Survey Reveals

The Imole Campaign Council (TICC) has made a significant claim regarding a political assessment survey, which they allege was commissioned by the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC). According to TICC, this purported survey indicates a strong preference for the re-election of the incumbent Governor, Ademola Adeleke. Hon Pelumi Olajengbesi, spokesperson for TICC, issued a release stating that the assessment was conducted by independent election and voter behaviour analysts. These analysts were reportedly engaged to thoroughly review electoral realities, public sentiment, voter psychology, and the perception of governance across Osun State, ultimately concluding that Governor Adeleke is poised for a substantial and decisive re-election victory.

Further details from the alleged assessment reveal that Governor Ademola Adeleke currently enjoys an extraordinary level of public acceptance. This broad support base reportedly cuts across diverse segments of the population, including civil servants, pensioners, market women, artisans, transport workers, youths, students, professionals, traditional communities, grassroots political stakeholders, and even specific voting blocs that were previously considered neutral throughout the State. The TICC stated that the report projects Governor Adeleke as commanding well over 72 percent public support, significantly ahead of the Osun APC and its candidate. The council also suggested strong indications that this margin of support could potentially widen further as the election date draws nearer.

TICC posited that this burgeoning electoral reality could be the underlying reason for what they describe as increasing panic, confusion, frustration, and reckless conduct exhibited by desperate elements within the Osun APC. More pointedly, the political assessment reportedly advised certain factions of the APC leadership against the imprudent deployment of financial resources into the election. This advice was based on the premise that public dissatisfaction against the APC remains deeply entrenched, while Governor Adeleke’s popularity continues its steady ascent, driven by tangible governance outcomes visible across Osun State.

However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has vehemently denied the existence of any such survey. Chief Kola Olabisi, the party's director of Media and Publicity, unequivocally debunked the TICC's claims, asserting that the survey was merely a figment of TICC's imagination. Olabisi maintained that the citizens of Osun State are firmly in support of Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji. He confidently stated that come August 15, 2026, the APC flag bearer, Oyebamiji, will emerge as the next governor of Osun State, directly refuting the TICC's optimistic outlook for Governor Adeleke.
