Former Nigerian international Obafemi Martins, speaking on the Obi One Podcast, strongly advocated for a move to Spain for Osimhen, specifically favoring Barcelona over Premier League clubs. Martins expressed doubts about Osimhen's ability to thrive in the English Premier League, questioning his fit within Arsenal's playing style and explicitly stating he would 'struggle at Arsenal because of the way they play.' While acknowledging Osimhen might fit into Arsenal's squad, Martins believes the striker would not enjoy the same goalscoring opportunities as he would at Barcelona. He firmly stated, 'Let him go to Barcelona; he needs to score goals, not struggle a lot. I don't want Osimhen at Chelsea.'

Conversely, former Manchester United forward Louis Saha views Osimhen as the perfect solution to United's long-standing striker problem, a void he believes began with the club missing out on Harry Kane in 2023.
