Osimhen Seals Galatasaray Move: Star Striker Completes Medical Ahead of Blockbuster Transfer!
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has passed his medicals at Galatasaray, commencing pre-season training with the Turkish club. Despite his return, intense speculation persists regarding his future, with several European giants reportedly interested in the Nigerian international, whose transfer saga continues this summer.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has successfully completed his medical examinations at Galatasaray, ahead of the club's 2026/2027 pre-season campaign. This development comes amidst persistent speculation regarding a potential exit from the Turkish giants. The Nigerian international returned to the club over the weekend following his summer holidays in Nigeria. By Monday, he was already at the club's training ground, participating in light gym routines with his teammates. On Tuesday, Osimhen, along with other returning teammates, underwent comprehensive medical checks and was subsequently cleared to return to action.
Galatasaray's manager, Buruk, has already outlined the team's pre-season schedule. The squad is set to return to the pitch on July 17 for a match against Umraniyespor. This will be followed by two significant pre-season fixtures against Serie A sides, Monza and Venezia. The team will conclude their preparations with a challenging match against La Liga side Villarreal, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming competitive season.
Despite Osimhen's return to training and completion of medicals, his future at Rams Park remains uncertain as the summer transfer window progresses. The 27-year-old marksman continues to be a top target for several prominent European clubs. Throughout the summer, Osimhen has been linked with major clubs such as Chelsea, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Atletico Madrid. However, no concrete transfer move has materialized to date.
For the time being, Galatasaray has expressed no intention of parting ways with their star attacker, remaining firm in their resolve to retain him. Osimhen himself has also reiterated his happiness at the club. Nevertheless, the transfer market is known for its fluidity, and the situation could change rapidly, especially depending on developments at other clubs. Galatasaray might find it challenging to decline an offer if his reported €150 million release clause is triggered. Even clubs like Paris Saint-Germain, who are currently in need of a striker, could potentially submit a bid and finalize a deal within a very short timeframe.
The centre-forward's transfer saga continues to be a situation worth monitoring this summer, as a departure cannot be entirely ruled out before the transfer window in the top five European leagues closes on September 1. Meanwhile, Galatasaray is scheduled to return to competitive action on August 16, facing newly-promoted side Corum in the Süper Lig.
