Gachagua, the leader of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP), is on his first international trip since his ouster from office in October 2024.
The former DP announced that he would embark on a two-month tour across the US to engage with Kenyans in the diaspora and international stakeholders.
During his visit, Gachagua would hold town hall meetings and attend community events in Dallas, California, Seattle, Boston, and Baltimore, where he would promote his new political agenda.
Reacting to the trip, Sudi, a UDA MP, did not mince his words, describing Gachagua as a 'troublemaker' whose absence would bring calm to the country.
“Kenya breathes a sigh of relief as its most notorious troublemaker and goon departs. Peace can now flourish,” Sudi stated.
His remarks sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans, with some interpreting them as evidence of internal tensions within the Kenya Kwanza coalition.
Others claimed the government was unsettled by Gachagua’s growing political influence and vocal criticism since his exit from office.

Meanwhile, in a scathing attack, the former deputy president accused President William Ruto of orchestrating state-sponsored violence against communities in the Mt Kenya region and dismissing efforts to seek justice.
Gachagua alleged that the head of state had deliberately ignored the suffering in the region, failing to issue any condolences or condemn the attacks.
He further warned that the matter would be escalated beyond Kenyan institutions, indicating plans to pursue action at the International Criminal Court.
