OPINION: Dembele, Hakimi & Co. Silence the Gunners Once Again in Arsenal vs PSG (Second Leg)

From kickoff, it was anyone’s game—until Arsenal decided to start their usual “slow warm-up” tactics again. Declan Rice picked up an early yellow card, and PSG didn’t waste time. A free-kick from Vitinha landed a juicy rebound, and Fabian Ruiz pounced with a thunderous strike. Boom! PSG 1–0 Arsenal (2–0 on aggregate). The viewing center? Mad banter started flying—especially after Barcola missed a sitter that could’ve ended the tie right there, and he fumbled it like MTN data.
PSG weren’t smiling. They pressed Arsenal like they were trying to squeeze oil out of them. The first half ended, and as expected, the viewing center fans were already analyzing goals like experts—with jollof in one hand and argument in the other.
Second half began, and just a few minutes in—Dembele started warming up. The viewing center erupted like he was Messi coming off the bench. Then Arsenal started getting small ginger—Saka began balling like he was Yamal in disguise. But Donnarumma? Man stood like a brick wall. Every shot, blocked. Calm as ever since the first leg.
Then came the drama—VAR check. Everyone thought it was Arsenal’s saving grace. Plot twist: it was PSG’s moment. Lewis Skelly decided to try handballing his way to glory, in a moment of pure NBA reflex, decided to go full LeBron James—man literally tried carrying the ball home like it was Game 7 of the finals. Penalty PSG. But wait—was Vitinha on payroll? Because that penalty was so weak, even the ball was confused He decided to extend hope—he passed the penalty to Raya like a polite Sunday morning greeting. Arsenal fans shouted “We’re still in it!” One even whispered “Scripted”. Viewing center went dead for a second.
Dembele stepped on the pitch and turned creator. In minutes, he dropped a silky assist—Hakimi fired it home. Boom! 2–0 on the night, 3–0 on aggregate. Viewing center? Shook. Saka tried to bring hope with a goal that looked like a consolation, but Dembele wasn’t done. He fired one more bullet, but David Raya managed to save Arsenal’s last shred of pride.
As the game wound down, Kvaratskhelia and Calafiori decided to turn things into a wrestling match—yellow cards for both. And then—suddenly—Arsenal remembered they were playing a knockout game. But just as the match neared full time, Arsenal decided to wake up. They played like resurrection was still available—but PSG had already locked the church and burnt the miracle oil.
At the end? PSG moves forward. Arsenal bows out. And as usual—they came second… or third, depending on how you want to count it.
As they say: na who laugh last, laugh with clean jersey. Too little, too late.
So here we are: Chelsea didn’t qualify for UCL, but guess who’s still in Europe and making noise? CHELSEA. Arsenal? Well… third time isn't always the charm. They’re used to being second—this time, they’ve moved even lower.
