Operation Sindoor: Bollywood and Cricket Legends Unite to Praise India's Bold Action

Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian armed forces in the early hours of Wednesday, involving precision missile strikes on nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. These critical targets included the strongholds of Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. This decisive action served as a direct retaliation for the barbaric terror attack that occurred on April 22 in Pahalgam, which tragically claimed the lives of 26 people, predominantly tourists. The devastating Pahalgam incident had sparked widespread outrage both within India and internationally, leading Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a high-level meeting on April 29, to grant the armed forces "complete operational freedom" to determine the most effective mode, targets, and timing for their response.
The successful execution of Operation Sindoor garnered immense support and accolades from across India's prominent sporting fraternity. Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar led the chorus of praise, posting on 'X': "Fearless in unity. Boundless in strength. India's shield is her people. There's no room for terrorism in this world. We're ONE TEAM! Jai Hind." Fellow former cricketers Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan, Suresh Raina, and Shikhar Dhawan also took to social media to express their solidarity and commend India's robust response to the heinous attack. Sehwag, in his characteristic style, wrote: "Agar koi aap par patthar phenke toh uspar Phool Phenko, Lekin Gamle ke saath (If someone throws stones at you then respond with flowers but not without the pots they are planted in). Jai Hind." Additionally, Olympic bronze medal-winning boxer Vijender Singh, wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt, and chess ace Vidith Gujrathi echoed these sentiments, with Gujrathi explicitly stating that "Terrorism must never go unanswered" and expressing gladness that India responded firmly.
The film fraternity also united in supporting the armed forces' actions. Renowned actors such as Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut, Allu Arjun, and Suniel Shetty were among the many public figures who lauded the missile strikes. Akshay Kumar captioned his post with "Jai Hind. Jai Mahakaal," while Kangana Ranaut, who is also BJP's MP from Mandi, reiterated the government's "zero tolerance" stance on terrorism, wishing safety and success for the forces. "Pushpa" star Allu Arjun and RRR actor Jr NTR both posted "Jai Hind" messages, with Jr NTR specifically praying for the safety and strength of the Indian Army in #OperationSindoor. Suniel Shetty emphasized a firm stance with "Zero tolerance. Total justice." Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur commended India's response for demonstrating its responsibility and confidence, describing #OperationSindoor as a "precise hit at territories and organisation that backed the horrendous terrorists that killed innocent civilians," executed "Without the rhetoric of War." Other notable personalities including Riteish Deshmukh, Madhur Bhandarkar, Nimrat Kaur (whose father was an Indian Army officer), Anupam Kher, and singer Adnan Sami also extended their support, collectively reinforcing the nation's unified and unwavering stand against terrorism.
