Yoruba film star Omowunmi Ajiboye has openly clarified the nature of her relationship with fellow actor Segun Ogungbe, asserting that they were never married or engaged, contrary to popular belief. In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Omowunmi revealed that Segun never met her family, and no formal introduction ever took place, dispelling long-standing assumptions fueled by the fact that they share two children together. While acknowledging they were in a relationship, she emphasized that it never culminated in marriage.

The actress also addressed a myriad of rumors and criticisms that have followed her online, particularly after her separation from Segun and alleged ties to Lagos transport boss MC Oluomo. Omowunmi appealed to the public to cease painting her as a "bad person," expressing the emotional toll of what she had endured and her desire to live peacefully. She further debunked claims that a party she hosted was sponsored by MC Oluomo, stating she personally funded the event and Segun Ogungbe attended as a guest, interacting with their children.

In a candid revelation, Omowunmi accused Segun of being a "serial cheat" during their relationship. She detailed serious allegations, including claims that he molested her female workers and coerced some into terminating pregnancies while they resided under her roof. Despite these grave accusations and past differences, Omowunmi stated she harbors no grudge against Segun, noting that he is thriving, just as she is. She also shared that she has launched a YouTube channel, inviting fans to subscribe and support her cinematic endeavors.

Speculation about a potential reconciliation arose in May 2024 when the two were spotted together at an event. However, neither Omowunmi nor Segun has confirmed any re-establishment of their romantic relationship. It is pertinent to note that Segun Ogungbe, who is the nephew of the late veteran actor Akin Ogungbe, is married to another actress, Atinuke Ogungbe, with whom he also has children.
