The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Oman launched an upgraded version of its meteorology website and mobile application during its annual media briefing last week. The updated platform now offers real-time weather updates, AI-powered forecasting tools, and direct access to radar data from within the country. H E Dr Abdullah bin Nasser al Harrasi, Minister of Information, presided over the event, which also drew representatives from government entities and strategic partners.

Abdullah bin Rashid al Khadouri, Director General of Oman Meteorology at CAA, introduced the new platform and emphasized its accessibility and utility. He explained that the redesigned interface features a colour-coded alert system to indicate the intensity of various weather conditions, including wind, rainfall, and wave activity.“The

aim is to help users better understand forecasts and take necessary precaution,” Khadouri said.

By streamlining the design and using visual cues, the CAA intends to make weather information more actionable and easier to interpret for the general public.
