Olamide Is Heading to The O2 Arena: Meet the Five Nigerians Who Sold It Out Before Him

For Nigerian music, some milestones are measured in streams, others in awards, and a few in the number of people willing to leave their homes, buy tickets, and sing along in another country. The O2 Arena in London has become one of those milestones.

On March 25, 2027, Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Baddo, is scheduled to headline the 20,000-capacity venue, taking his music to one of the biggest stages of his career. He will be following a path five Nigerian artists have already taken: Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, Asake and Rema.

The concert marks another step in Olamide’s international journey. It follows his November 2025 headline performance at OVO Arena Wembley, a 12,000-capacity venue, and represents a move to a larger stage. According to The O2’s official listing, the show will feature special guests, with further announcements expected. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale on October 23, 2026. The concert is confirmed, although a sell-out has not yet been established.

For an artist whose career has been built around Yoruba rap, street-hop and the sounds of Lagos, the booking carries significance beyond venue size. Olamide has spent more than a decade building his catalogue while developing YBNL Nation, the label behind artists including Asake, Fireboy DML and Lil Kesh. His influence extends beyond his own records: he has helped bring new voices into Nigerian popular music and connect street-rooted sounds with wider audiences.

The March 2027 show is expected to span different eras of his career, from the songs that established his reputation to newer releases. For long-time listeners, it offers a chance to see an artist whose music has travelled far beyond its original audience. For the industry, it is another test of how much demand Nigerian artists can generate internationally.

Five Nigerian Artists Who Have Sold Out The O2

  • Wizkid: The first Nigerian artist to sell out The O2, with his 2018 Afrorepublik concert. He returned in 2021 for three consecutive nights, making the venue a landmark in Afrobeats’ global expansion.

  • Davido: Sold out the arena in 2019, 2022, and 2024, repeatedly demonstrating his ability to turn a large international following into live audiences.

  • Burna Boy: Sold out The O2 in August 2021 during his Space Drift tour, strengthening his position as one of Nigeria’s leading international performers.

  • Asake: Sold out the venue in 2023 and returned in 2024, taking the street-pop sound that propelled his rise to a major London stage.

  • Rema: Sold out The O2 in 2023 and again in 2025, extending the global reach of his catalogue and the success of “Calm Down.”

Olamide’s date now places him in the company of these artists, but the next milestone remains ahead. Booking The O2 is an achievement; selling it out would be another. March 2027 will show whether Baddo can turn the opportunity into a sixth Nigerian success story at the venue.
