Ohanaeze Ndigbo condoles Dantata family, condemns Anambra killings

In a statement issued by Ezechi Chukwu, the National Publicity Secretary, Ohanaeze described Alhaji Dantata as “an eminent elder statesman, successful businessman, captain of industry, renowned philanthropist and outstanding mentor who tutored an array of contemporary wealth creators in Nigeria.”

The President General of Ohanaeze, Senator Azuta Mbata praised Dantata’s impact on nation-building and human development.

“Alhaji Dantata has paid his dues in both nation building and human capacity development, with his impactful robust endeavours cutting across over half a century,” the statement reads.

He encouraged Nigerian youth to emulate the late Dantata’s virtues of industry, discipline, and resilience, stressing that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Ohanaeze also offered condolences to the Emir of Kano, His Highness Dr. Muhammadu Sanusi II, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the entire people of Kano.

In a separate release, Ohanaeze condemned the gruesome murder of 13 Ebonyi indigenes in Ogboji, Orumba South LGA of Anambra State, describing it as an “abomination” and a “desecration of our land.”

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo sees this unprovoked killing as callous, barbaric, ungodly, and an abomination which amounts to the desecration of our land,” the statement reads.

The group demanded an urgent investigation and swift justice, urging the state government and police authoritie to hunt down the perpetrators and ensure they face the full wrath of the law.

Ohanaeze sympathied with the bereaved families, the governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru, and the people of the state.

The group reaffirmed its commitment to peace and justice across Igboland and the broader country at large.
