Ogun State ROCKED: Blogger Adetoun Onajobi Faces Cyberbullying, Doctor Remanded Over Fake Medical Report

The Ogun State Police Command has filed a six-count charge against social activist Adetoun Onajobi, widely known as @justadetoun on social media, for allegedly publishing false accusations and cyberbullying Governor Dapo Abiodun and the state government. The charges, now pending before the Abeokuta Division of the Federal High Court, stem from Onajobi's online activities following a fatal accident on December 29, 2025, which reportedly involved or impacted boxing champion Anthony Joshua.
In videos posted in December 2025, Onajobi vehemently criticized the Ogun State Government, alleging a complete lack of ambulance services across the state. She further accused Governor Dapo Abiodun of being a “wicked governor” more preoccupied with “impregnating women and looting funds” than providing essential infrastructure and attending to public welfare, specifically regarding the accident's aftermath. She went as far as to suggest that whoever gave birth to the governor should seek divine forgiveness.
According to DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, the Ogun State Police spokesperson, Onajobi, an internet blogger, repeatedly used social media platforms to publish these false accusations and bully the governor, breaching the Cybercrimes Act. The police command extended an invitation to Onajobi for an interview on January 2, 2026, to address the allegations. However, she failed to honor the invitation.
Instead, Onajobi's lawyer submitted a letter claiming she was medically indisposed and unable to attend, attaching a medical report allegedly issued by a Lagos-based medical doctor. The report detailed various medical challenges purportedly suffered by Onajobi.
Subsequent discreet investigations by the police, however, confirmed the falsity of these claims. The medical doctor involved was arrested and reportedly confessed that the entire report was a ruse, crafted at Onajobi's direction during a phone conversation facilitated by her lawyer.
Consequent upon this revelation, the medical doctor was arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court on charges of conspiracy, uttering a false document, and obstructing the course of justice, and has since been remanded in prison. Adetoun Onajobi, meanwhile, has remained evasive, rebuffing all police invitations, and her current whereabouts are unknown.
Mr. Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN), the Ogun State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, confirmed the remand of the doctor and reiterated that Onajobi's allegations about the absence of ambulance services and the governor's purported activities were false, malicious, and misleading.
He emphasized that Ogun State operates several state-owned and state-supported ambulance services, and such misinformation poses a public safety risk. Ogungbade questioned Onajobi's credibility, noting her failure to present evidence for her claims and the subsequent forgery of medical records. He also mentioned previous allegations against Onajobi for bullying a woman and unlawfully filming her underage child in Lagos.
The Ogun State Police Command affirmed its commitment to tackling all forms of crime, including digital offenses, while upholding constitutional rights. However, the command stressed that free speech has lawful limits and does not grant immunity from criminal conduct. The police will continue to pursue other suspects connected to the alleged false information and will exhaust all lawful means to apprehend Onajobi and bring her before the court to answer the charges.
