Ogun monarch hails Tinubu for upgrading Ilaro Poly to federal varsity

An Ogun monarch, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for upgrading the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, into the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro.
Oba Akinyemi, who is the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom in Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, in a letter of appreciation to Tinubu, described the upgrade of the polytechnic to a university as a monumental milestone that will transform the educational landscape of the entire Yewaland.
The monarch also lauded the effort of the Senator representing Ogun West, Olamilekan Adeola, for his unwavering commitment to advancing the cause of establishing a federal university in the area.
He said: “Mr. President, I am expressing my heartwarming and heartfelt gratitude for your visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Yewaland and the entire Gateway State, Ogun State.
“Your approval of the conversion of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, is a monumental milestone that will transform the educational landscape of Yewaland. This landmark upgrade will provide our youth with access to cutting-edge technology and innovative education, empowering them to drive progress and development in our region, i.e. Ogun State.
“Without doubt, this new university has placed Ogun West on equal footing with Ogun Central, where the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), is domiciled, and Ogun East, where the Federal University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, is located.
