Official: At 4,000 Cr, Ranbir, Yash & Sai Pallavi's Ramayana it India's most expensive movie
Ramayana, the upcoming magnum opus featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and Sai Pallavi in lead roles, is one of the most eagerly awaited biggies in India. The film is being made as a two-part franchise, with the first part set to release on Diwali 2026 and the second part slated for release on Diwali 2027.
Meanwhile, Ramayana producer Namit Malhotra has made a sensational revelation in a recent podcast. Namit revealed that the two-part Ramayana duology is being made with a staggering budget of $500 million, which roughly amounts to Rs 4,009 crore. While most Indian movies hardly cross a budget of Rs 500 crore, Ramayana, at Rs 4,000 crore, is undoubtedly the most expensive Indian movie ever made.
In Ramayana, while Ranbir Kapoor and Yash play Lord Ram and the demon king Ravana, respectively, Sai Pallavi plays the role of goddess Sita. Senior Bollywood star Sunny Deol will be seen as Lord Hanuman.
