Oasis Wembley Gig Chaos: Security Breached, Star Spotted in Crowd!

The highly anticipated reunion tour of Britpop legends Oasis brought a mix of celebrity sightings, fervent fan energy, and unfortunate incidents to Wembley Stadium. As the band performed its fourth of seven London shows, the atmosphere was charged with excitement, drawing millions of fans and even Hollywood stars.

Among the throngs of gig-goers, actor Robert Pattinson, known for his roles in Twilight and The Batman, was spotted blending seamlessly into the crowd. Shunning typical VIP treatment, the 39-year-old actor, clad in sunglasses and a baseball cap, was seen in a dark blue T-shirt, dancing alongside his model fiancée Suki Waterhouse. Fans quickly captured footage, praising Pattinson for his down-to-earth approach, choosing an "ordinary spot" over celebrity-only areas, a gesture that resonated positively on social media platforms like TikTok.

However, the celebratory mood was tragically overshadowed by the death of a fan during Saturday night's performance. A man in his 40s, reportedly sitting in the upper tier of the 90,000-seat venue, fell from an estimated 170 feet above ground. Despite immediate attendance by police and paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Oasis band members Liam and Noel Gallagher expressed profound "shock and sadness" in a statement, extending their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Adding to the complexities of the Wembley gigs, a widespread security scam emerged, prompting Wembley Stadium bosses to consider calling in the police. Hundreds of ticketless fans, estimated around 200, allegedly paid up to £350 each to be sneaked into the stadium. The scheme, reportedly orchestrated by two women, involved using a copy of the same ticket for multiple entries via a disabled entrance. Fans detailed being given a drawn shape on their hands and directed to entrance M, where security checks were reportedly non-existent, and they were then handed VIP 'golden circle' wristbands. Messages on social media and WhatsApp groups facilitated the scam, with initial promises of "no payment until you’re inside," though the scammers later shifted to upfront payment due to previous issues. Wembley officials confirmed they were investigating these serious allegations and would refer evidence to the police if substantiated, acknowledging past security breaches, such as the 2021 Euros final.

Oasis's reunion tour itself has been a massive draw, with over 14 million fans attempting to secure tickets when they first went on sale. The band’s comeback began last month with Liam and Noel reuniting on stage in Cardiff, marking their first joint performance in 16 years since a backstage bust-up. This was followed by five successful dates in their hometown of Manchester in July, where they performed a 23-song setlist of classic hits including "Wonderwall," "Don’t Look Back in Anger," and "Live Forever" to a roaring crowd of 80,000 at Heaton Park. The tour is set to continue with dates in America later this month, followed by two more London gigs in September, and recent performances in Edinburgh.

The Wembley engagements for Oasis, while reaffirming their status as Britpop icons and drawing immense crowds and notable personalities, also highlighted significant challenges concerning crowd safety and venue security.
