Oasis Reignites the Stage: Latin American Reunion Tour Kicks Off with a Roar!

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited as Oasis for their highly anticipated 'Oasis Live ’25' reunion tour, marking their first live performance together in 17 years. The inaugural stop on their Latin American leg of the tour took place on Friday, September 12, in Mexico City, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of 65,000 fans at the Estadio GNP Seguros. This sold-out event, promoted by OCESA, was the first of two nights at the iconic venue, delivering a majestic two-hour performance filled with songs that have become generational anthems globally.
Frontman Liam Gallagher, visibly moved, walked onto the stage hand in hand with his brother Noel, shouting “¡Viva México!” and exclaiming, “It’s good to be back!” The massive screens displayed messages like “This is happening” and “Mexico City,” setting the tone for an unforgettable night. Liam further complimented the crowd, calling them “fuchsia, beautiful, heavenly and majestic,” which was met with enthusiastic cheers.
The setlist for the Mexico City show mirrored those performed earlier in the tour, kicking off with “Hello.” Fan favorites such as “Acquiesce,” “Morning Glory,” “Some Might Say,” “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” “Supersonic,” “Stand by Me,” and “Live Forever” were all included, culminating in powerful renditions of “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.” A heartwarming moment occurred during “Acquiesce,” when Noel sang the chorus, “Because we need each other, we believe in one another,” creating a palpable feeling of hope among the fans.
In a tradition established during their reunion tour, Oasis was joined on stage by a cardboard cutout of Spanish soccer manager Pep Guardiola, who leads Manchester City. For their Mexican audience, they added a local touch by adorning the cutout with a traditional charro sombrero.
The band’s arrival in Mexico City was dramatically announced on the eve of the show with a drone display that illuminated the sky over the majestic Bosque de Chapultepec, forming the band’s name. This spectacle surprised locals and quickly went viral on social media, building anticipation for the concert.
For this leg of their tour, the Gallagher brothers were accompanied by their long-time collaborators: guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthur, guitarist Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell, and drummer Joey Waronker. American rock band Cage the Elephant served as the opening act for the night.
Following their second show in Mexico City on Saturday, September 13, Oasis is scheduled to perform two shows at Wembley Stadium in London on September 27 and 28. The Latin American tour will then resume on November 15 in Argentina, continue through Chile, and conclude with two nights in Brazil on November 22-23.
