Oasis Reignites Rock N' Roll! Reunion Tour Confirmed, Tickets Spark Fan Frenzy

The highly anticipated reunion of legendary British band Oasis is officially underway, with bassist Andy Bell confirming his involvement in the band's long-awaited comeback tour. Bell, who previously played with Oasis from 1999 to 2009 and later with Liam Gallagher's post-Oasis project Beady Eye, brings extensive experience with the Gallagher brothers. He confirmed his participation to the Austrian newspaper Oe24, stating, “I’m in and I’m really looking forward to it. We’ll see each other on tour.”
The live band is expected to feature other long-time collaborators, including Gem Archer, who was Bell's bandmate in Beady Eye, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs on guitar, and drummer Joey Waronker. The 2025 tour schedule is extensive, with 41 dates booked across multiple continents. It will kick off with stadium shows around the UK and Ireland in July. Notable performances include three sold-out shows at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on August 8, 9, and 12. Support acts for various dates include Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music.
The demand for tickets was unprecedented, with 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to purchase them, leading to a record-time sell-out. However, the ticket sales were marred by controversy. The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) launched an investigation and subsequently threatened legal action against Ticketmaster over its "misleading" methods. The CMA's concerns included the sale of 'platinum' tickets, which were priced up to 2.5 times higher than standard tickets without offering additional benefits and often being in the same seating areas, thereby misleading customers. Furthermore, Ticketmaster allegedly failed to inform consumers about two different price categories for standing tickets, with cheaper ones selling out first.
Oasis, through a band statement, attributed the dynamic pricing fiasco to their management, promoters, and Ticketmaster, asserting that the band was "not aware" that the dynamic pricing system would be used. They clarified that decisions on ticketing and pricing are entirely left to their promoters and management, and while the initial strategy aimed for a fair experience and to reduce touting, the "execution of the plan failed to meet expectations" due to "unprecedented demand."
Despite the excitement surrounding the reunion, manager Alec McKinlay has dampened expectations for new material or additional tour dates. He stated that "This is very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press,” and explicitly confirmed, “No, there’s no plan for any new music.” This contradicts earlier claims made by Liam Gallagher on social media, where he had suggested a new album was "already finished" and he was "blown away" by Noel's new material.
Looking further ahead, Oasis is reportedly planning a return to Knebworth in the summer of 2026 for five gigs, commemorating the 30th anniversary of their iconic 1996 performances. Those original two nights at the Hertfordshire venue were a pinnacle of the Britpop era, attracting over 250,000 fans and selling out in less than 24 hours. Industry insiders suggest the Gallagher brothers have accumulated substantial earnings, potentially up to £1.2 billion from their world tour, with the Knebworth anniversary gigs expected to add an additional £100 million. The setlist for these anniversary shows is anticipated to include classics like "Don't Look Back In Anger" and "Some Might Say," alongside later tracks such as "All Around the World" and "Go Let it Out."
Interestingly, amidst the manager's firm denial of new music, the band's official photographer, Kevin Cummins, has offered a contrasting view. Cummins teased "whispers that Oasis may be now ready to record a studio album for the first time in 17 years," noting that Noel is continuously writing songs and Liam's "frontman ego" is taking a backseat, making an album a possibility. Meanwhile, Noel, 58, and Liam, 52, are currently on the US leg of their reunion tour, having recently played two sold-out shows at the 90,000-seat Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, California, attended by celebrities like Sir Paul McCartney and Leonardo DiCaprio.
