Oasis Reignites: Reunion Rocked by Ticket Wars and Backstage Drama!

The Oasis reunion tour has been confirmed, with Andy Bell set to rejoin the band for their highly anticipated return. Bell, who played with Oasis from 1999 to 2009 and later with Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye, will serve as bassist on the tour, bringing his experience in handling the dynamics between Liam and Noel Gallagher. He confirmed his involvement in an interview with Austrian newspaper Oe24, stating his excitement for the tour. Joining Bell are expected to be his Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer, Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs on guitar, and drummer Joey Waronker, forming the live band for the extensive 2025 schedule.
The tour encompasses 41 dates booked for 2025, commencing in July at stadiums across the UK and Ireland before expanding to multiple continents. Notable support acts include Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music. The band, fronted by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, has already played sold-out shows at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on August 8, 9, and 12. Tickets for these shows sold out in record time, with 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to secure them.
However, the tour has not been without controversy, particularly regarding ticket sales. The UK competition watchdog, the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has threatened legal action against Ticketmaster for "misleading" methods used during the sale of Oasis reunion tickets. In March, the CMA had already warned that Ticketmaster "breached the law" and "misled fans," launching an investigation into the "Oasis Live '25" sale. Thousands of fans were infuriated by surging ticket costs, with some paying over £350 for tickets initially priced at £150. Concerns raised by the watchdog include the labeling of certain seated tickets as ‘platinum’ – sold for up to 2.5 times the price of equivalent standard tickets – without sufficiently explaining that they offered no additional benefits and were often in the same stadium area. Furthermore, Ticketmaster allegedly failed to inform consumers about two categories of standing tickets at different prices, selling all cheaper tickets first before releasing the more expensive ones, leading to confusion and frustration for fans.
Oasis, shortly after the sale, attributed the dynamic pricing fiasco to their management, stating they were "not aware" that such a system would be used. They clarified that decisions on ticketing and pricing are left to their promoters and management. While prior meetings aimed for a fair fan experience, the band stated that "the execution of the plan failed to meet expectations" due to unprecedented demand. Despite efforts from all parties, delivering the best possible fan experience proved impossible. Fans attending the Scottish dates specifically complained about paying far more than planned due to dynamic pricing.
Regarding the future, Oasis's manager Alec McKinlay has definitively ruled out new material and additional tour dates. McKinlay, also director of Ignition and Big Brother Recordings, explained that the group kept the comeback news under tight wraps, working only with trusted individuals. He described the reaction to the tour announcement as "phenomenal," a welcome positive amidst global "nonsense." Despite earlier social media claims by Liam Gallagher about a "finished" new album and being "blown away" by Noel’s new material, McKinlay confirmed there are "no plan for any new music." Furthermore, he emphasized that this tour is "very much the last time around, as Noel’s made clear in the press," offering a chance for fans who haven’t seen the band to do so.
Speculation about future shows, including offers for four huge concerts at Knebworth House next year to mark the 30th anniversary of their 1996 historic gigs, and a possible residency at the Etihad Stadium (home of Manchester City), has been rampant. Private bidders and festivals like Coachella and Benicassim have also reportedly sent offers. However, sources close to the band indicate that Noel and Liam are not considering anything for 2026, planning a "well-earned holiday" after the current tour concludes. They are aware of the speculation and fan desires but it's "ultimately up for them to decide" if they want to "draw a line in the sand" or "keep the magic going." All offers received so far have reportedly been "stonewalled."
On stage, Liam Gallagher has also made headlines with his outspoken comments. He confirmed being banned from throwing his tambourine and maracas into the crowd at the end of Oasis gigs, a rule put in place after two individuals mobbed a female fan and took his maracas during a Wembley show. Liam expressed his frustration on stage at Murrayfield, stating the ban was due to fans not knowing "how to behave yourselves," citing instances of "pinching each other on your nipples and ears and f***ing s**t like that and kneeing each other in the bollocks." During the Scottish shows, Liam, alongside Noel, also publicly berated Edinburgh Council Chiefs, calling them "f****** slags" after leaked documents reportedly branded Oasis fans as “fat, drunk, and rowdy.” He further took a swipe at the Fringe festival, dismissing it with comments like "People juggling f*****g bollocks and that? Swallowing swords ...one-legged bicycles. What’s all that s*t about? S****y card tricks." He claimed the band would bring "two f*****g billion" into the city, criticizing the council for seeing none of it.
