Ballola Onyango is an exceptionally determined and bright young man who captured the attention of his community in 2021 when he excelled in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams.

Ballola's aunt, Domoline Adhiambo, told that the youngster scored an impressive 381 marks in the final-year exams.

His outstanding performance at Onwang’o Primary School earned him a coveted spot at Kanga High School, one of the top-performing national schools in the country.

Thanks to the generosity of a well-wisher, Ballola was able to join Form One and begin his secondary education.

The milestone was a dream come true for the hardworking student and a source of pride for his family and village.

However, the financial assistance was not sustainable, and over time, the burden of tuition and other school-related expenses became too much to bear.

Despite the family’s best efforts, they have been unable to raise the necessary funds to keep Ballola in school.

The result has been a heartbreaking interruption of his academic journey, with the young scholar now staying at home, his future hanging in the balance.

Speaking about the turn of events, Ballola expressed deep sadness over the situation, but remains hopeful that someone will step forward to help him resume his studies.

“I still believe in my dream. I know I can make it if given the chance,” he said.
