National President of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo), has hailed to Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, for reinstating activities of the union in the state.

Abia State, in a letter, “Reinstatement and Operational Authority of National Union of Road Transport Workers in Abia State,” dated July 15, signed by Commissioner for Transport, Chimezie Ukaegbu, said NURTW “is not banned from operating in Abia State” and is “permitted to operate in government-designated parks and terminals.”

Akinsanya said the Otti’s was “visionary, inclusive, and bold.”

“The development marks the end of a long and challenging period of absence, and we are grateful that our union is now reinstated and authorised to function in government-designated motor parks and terminals in the state.

“We are grateful to His Excellency for restoring our rights and dignity. This is a testament to your commitment to democratic governance and peaceful industrial relations.”

He thanked Dr. Ukaegbu for his foresight and dedication to stakeholders’ engagement.

The NURTW chief gave special recognition to Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters for his continued mediation and support throughout the reinstatement process.
