NPP Firestorm: Hackman Owusu-Agyeman Blasts Alan's Exit, Demands Tough Terms for Return

Hackman Owusu-Agyeman, Chairman of the NPP Council of Elders, has unequivocally addressed the contentious issue of party members, particularly Alan Kyerematen, resigning and subsequently seeking to rejoin the New Patriotic Party. Speaking on Joy News’ PM Express on September 17, Mr. Owusu-Agyeman called for the implementation of strict preconditions for any individual wishing to return, emphasizing that the party's past leniency has proven disruptive to its internal organization and overall progress.

Owusu-Agyeman critically noted that repeated resignations and returns are not a trivial matter, stating, “It’s not a child's game.” He supported the general secretary's stance on requiring undertakings from those who wish to return, stressing that they should not come back to disturb the party. His personal opinion is that conditions for readmission should be stringent, and those who have resigned and returned multiple times “must not even be considered at all.”
