We had such a close, really great collaboration, and touring around with the movie, we got to know each other better. He knew me better as an actor and as a person, so I knew he wanted to write something for me. I came to his house, and he explained the movie to me, and I started crying. So, I knew there was something there." This emotional connection to the material underscores the deep understanding and trust between the actress and director.
