Nollywood Meltdown: Regina Daniels Accuses Ned Nwoko of Siblings' Arrest in Bitter Family Feud

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has publicly accused her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of orchestrating the arrest of her elder brother and sister, with threats to arrest her younger sister, in an alleged attempt to coerce her into returning home and submitting to a rehabilitation program. Daniels expressed profound distress on Instagram, writing: “Someone pls help me! I feel like I’m losing my mind.” She elaborated: “My big brother and big sister have been arrested, my baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return and according to him, return to rehab.”
The actress vehemently denied Nwoko’s claims that she is a drug addict, stating: “Don’t even get me started on telling the world what you did to me with your stupid rehab talk! You said I’m a drug addict… What other name can you call me? A prostitute? But I will speak on that one day and tell the world of your involvement with everything!” Her posts conveyed deep personal despair and humiliation, as she appealed to followers for sympathy and described herself as a “hard girl” reduced to tears. She urged Nwoko: “Leave my family alone Ned! And leave me alone too! It is obvious it’s war! And a big shame that the beautiful but short legacy we built is about to be ridiculed by the whole world.”
Regina’s elder brother, known as Sir.Sammywest or Sweezy, corroborated the arrest claims via his Instagram story: “Dem say dem na Ned send dem. Currently at Ogombo station,” confirming they were in police custody. The actress later alleged that the Nigerian police beat her brother, questioning the legitimacy of the arrest and challenging Nwoko’s influence. She warned him: “What I wouldn’t want to do to you is to let the man seen, or rather, once seen as an iroko fall before everyone because you bloody know your ‘little girl Gina’ is capable of that!” She also expressed frustration over their children, stating: “I just hate this feeling of wishing my boys’ father’s name remains a legacy. You know why? Boys don’t grow to change their surnames.”
These allegations come amid an ongoing marital crisis, which became public after Regina accused the lawmaker of physical assault and declared her unwillingness to continue the marriage. In response, Nwoko had issued a public statement titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence,” describing what he called her “violent behaviour and erratic conduct.” He claimed she was battling drug and alcohol addiction and insisted she continue a rehabilitation program, proposing facilities in Asokoro, Abuja, or abroad in Jordan, where she would allegedly have no access to substances.
The feud escalated with involvement from Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, and brother, Sweezy. Rita, in a video, accused Nwoko of betrayal and abuse of power, claiming her daughter contributed $50,000 to his senatorial campaign. Sweezy, in a separate Instagram Story, accused Nwoko of hypocrisy, alleging that Nwoko’s late son died in the United Kingdom due to “excessive intake of drugs”—a matter he claimed was kept from the public. He challenged Nwoko’s integrity and warned of further media exposure.
As of this report, Senator Ned Nwoko has not publicly responded to the latest allegations from Regina Daniels and her family.
