Nollywood Family Feud Erupts: Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko Unleash Explosive Drug and Marriage Allegations

A heated marital dispute between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and billionaire politician Senator Ned Nwoko has erupted into a public spectacle, with both parties leveling serious accusations against each other. The conflict intensified following an explosive Facebook post by Ned Nwoko, where he accused Regina's family of introducing her to drugs and actively sabotaging her recovery from substance abuse. These allegations have been met with fierce denials and counter-claims from Regina, who has accused her estranged husband of manipulation, abuse, and psychological control.
Senator Nwoko's stance, detailed in various public statements, paints Regina Daniels as a drug addict who resisted rehabilitation. He claimed her brothers, Lawrence and Sammy, along with her sister Destiny, and friends like Sonia Uche Montana and Sammy's girlfriend NK, not only introduced her to illegal substances but also consistently defied medical instructions by supplying her with drugs during her rehabilitation efforts. Nwoko alleged these individuals turned his home into a "drug den" and frustrated the efforts of doctors and therapists. He further asserted that he provided substantial financial support to Regina's family, including transferring N125 million to her mother, Rita Daniels, sponsoring Sammy's university education, and providing him with musical equipment and a furnished apartment in Abuja. He also mentioned purchasing a house for Regina in Asaba for her family's use. Amidst these claims, Nwoko vehemently denied allegations of domestic violence, dismissing viral videos depicting such incidents as "pure Nollywood scenario" staged at his residence in his absence by Regina's sister and her friend. He also accused Regina's family members of taking valuables like a phone and money from his house during an altercation.
Regina Daniels, however, has vehemently refuted Ned Nwoko's narrative, branding it a calculated effort to tarnish her name and isolate her from her loved ones. In a series of emotional online posts and private notes, Regina admitted to past drug use but accused her husband of weaponizing the issue to publicly humiliate her and divert attention from the real problems in their relationship. She shockingly alleged that Nwoko himself encouraged her drug use, stating he preferred her "high" because it made her "sexier," "wild," and "romantic"—exactly as he desired. The actress detailed a disturbing pattern of control and abuse, claiming Nwoko would isolate her by seizing her phones for weeks, locking her up, and instructing doctors to inject her with drugs meant for individuals with bipolar disorder whenever she resisted their relationship. She noted that he would only withdraw claims of her mental instability and restore her freedom once she capitulated to his demands, revealing this as his strategy to "break people down, make them weak and powerless."
Adding to her powerful accusations, Regina revealed she had trusted Ned with sensitive personal material, referencing a "sextape" which she prayed would "never sees the light of day." She also challenged the legal validity of their union, explicitly stating that "We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed," and that she would have filed for divorce long ago if a legal marriage existed. Regina married Nwoko at 17, asserting she was not involved with drugs at that time, and vowed to confront the situation legally, declaring, "It’s time to fight with all of me in court. I’m not backing down now."
The escalating dispute has drawn in other individuals and past controversies. Regina's brother, Samuel "Sammy West" Ojeogwu, was reportedly arrested on Ned Nwoko's orders, leading activist and filmmaker Stanley Ontop to express fears of his own arrest for publicly supporting Regina's family. Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central subtly showed her support for Regina by sharing a love emoji on the actress's post. Furthermore, Ned Nwoko's Moroccan wife, Laila Charani, shared a cryptic message about "building her peace" amidst the drama, implicitly referencing her own past falling out with Nwoko in 2021. During that separation, Nwoko accused Laila of infidelity, neglecting their children, physical violence towards them, and undergoing plastic surgery without his knowledge, further highlighting a contentious history within the family's relationships.
As the public exchanges continue to unfold, the complex web of accusations and denials underscores the intense personal and legal battles ahead for Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, leaving their marriage under significant public scrutiny and its future uncertain.
