NOA director pledges support for projects in North-east - Blueprint Newspapers Limited
The newly appointed zonal director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), North east zone, Alhaji Ali Audu, Tuesday, commended the federal government’s reform agenda for the agency.
The new director assured that the staff welfare, recruitment and implementation of series of federal government programmes within the mandate of the directorate, will be prioritised and virtually pursued to address the lingering problems and challenges the agency is confronted with as part of reformation process.
Audu, who stated this in Maiduguri during his working visit to Borno state at the Borno State Directorate of NOA, appreciated the reception accorded him in both Borno and Yobe states during his visits and congratulated the state director and others for their recent promotion to higher cadre.
“Today is one of the most remarkable days in the history of National Orientation Agency, particularly in the North east zonal directorates which include Adamawa, Bauchi, Borno, Gombe, Taraba and Yobe as we formally and officiallly flag-off our activities as a zonal directorate.
“I am delighted to be here as the pioneer zonal director to coordinate on behalf of the director-general, Malam Lanre Issa-Onilu. The zonal directorate system is one among the many innovations of the present NOA leadership to move forward the 38-year-old agency which began as the directorate for Mass Mobilization for Self Reliance, Social Justice, and Economic Recovery (MAMSER), in 1987.
“The Zonal Directorate System is designed to provide for a more effective oversight, supervision and implementation of the mandate given to the Agency,” he stated.
