This was revealed by the Production Company, Kornestonez, at a press conference held at the Silverbird Cinemas, Accra Mall on Monday, July 14, to officially announce and give details of the production.

Directed by Mr Ampong Kwakye, “No Man of God” is a story of four former special unit operatives who were involved in high-level, government-sanctioned missions that often included deadly operations.

A decade after they part ways, one operative experiences a spiritual awakening and becomes a man of God. However, his past catches up with him when his former comrades come seeking what they claim is their share of the “booty”.

To force his hand, the operatives kidnap his family and a pregnant woman and her two young children hoping to draw him out. What follows is a tense and emotionally charged rescue mission as the pastor fights to save the innocent and finally confronts his violent past.

The cast features celebrated Ghanaian actors Majid Michel, Adjetey Anang (who plays the main villain), James Gardiner, Nikki Samonas, Maame Serwaa, Peter Ritchie, David Dontoh, Ato Ghartey, Gadede Segbefia, among others.

It also features Nigerian actress, Bamike “Bambam” Olawunmi.

At the launch, the cast expressed their excitement about taking on new and challenging roles. Majid Michel mentioned that he was drawn to the film's faith-centred theme, while Adjetey Anang spoke about exploring a darker and more intense character.

Maame Serwaa expressed her eagerness to step outside her usual comfort zone, and Gadede Segbefia conveyed her trust in the director’s vision to put up a good film.

The director, Mr Ampong Kwakye, passionately addressed the media, outlining his vision for the film.

He expressed his desire to have a successful project and stated that with the support of sponsors, partners, and talent of the cast and crew, he believed they would deliver something remarkable.

“I’m working with a trusted team; people I believe in and I know they’ll make this vision a reality. I’m very excited about this project and can’t wait for Ghana to see what we’re bringing,” he said.

The project is co-produced and executive-produced by renowned actress and filmmaker Akorfa Edjeani.

With a budget estimated at over $100,000, “No Man of God” is expected to premiere first in Ghana, followed by its premiere in Nigeria and South Africa.

Discussions are ongoing for global distribution on major streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime and Tubi, building on the success of previous Kornerstonez Productions.

The Deputy Secretary General of the Confederation of African Occupational Artists emphasised the need for stronger cross-border collaborations within Africa’s film industry and the importance of unified storytelling across all 54 African countries.
