No. 4 College Basketball Recruit Receives Major Recruiting Update
Nate Ament, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Virginia, is one of the nation's top high school recruits this year.
According to 247sports, he is ranked No. 4 overall among recruits in the class of 2025, and the question is which school he will commit to for the 2025-26 NCAA season.
247Sports' "Crystal Ball" has Ament eventually going to the Tennessee Volunteers. According to Recruits News, Tennessee does appear to be the favorite to land him.
"TRENDING: Tennessee appears to be the favorite for 5 Nate Ament Travis Branham is 94% correct with his crystal ball predictions ," the caption read.
Ament has gotten a nearly perfect prospect score from 247Sports. He reportedly has five choices right now as far as where he will play this fall: Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Duke and Louisville.
According to ESPN, Ament is the highest-rated uncommitted recruit in the class of 2025. The three players ahead of Ament are Cameron Boozers, Darryn Peterson and A.J. Dybantsa.
Tennessee went to the Elite Eight in this year's NCAA men's tournament, where it fell to the Houston Cougars by a final score of 69-50.
Tennessee has gained a couple of players through the transfer portal this spring.
Jaylen Carey, a forward who was with Vanderbilt this past season, and guard Ja'Kobi Gillespie, who played for the Maryland Terrapins last season, have both committed to playing for the Volunteers this fall.
Gillespie, in particular, should help after averaging 14.7 points, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals a game while hitting 40.7% from 3-point range during the 2024-25 campaign.
