Nigerian Cyclist Emmiwuks Arrives In Ghana On Bicycle Journey To U.S

Published 12 hours ago2 minute read

Emmanuel Myam, popularly known as Emmiwuks, a Nigerian cyclist, has reached Ghana in his bold quest to travel from Lagos to the United States solely by bicycle.

Kicking off his journey on July 1, Emmiwuks has already covered three West African nations—Benin Republic, Togo, and Ghana within a span of ten days.

This extraordinary expedition is both a personal journey and a humanitarian effort, drawing widespread attention from supporters across Africa.

The Benue State native first made headlines back in 2022 when he rode his bicycle from Makurdi to Lagos to meet Afrobeats superstar Davido. That adventure was motivated by a thirst for exploration and a desire to test his boundaries.

However, his current mission is inspired by a much deeper purpose. He revealed that a life-altering experience and a near-death encounter in 2023 sparked the vision to cycle from Nigeria to the U.S.

More than just a physical challenge, his journey aims to spotlight the struggles of orphaned and displaced children throughout Africa, especially those impacted by violence and instability.

On Wednesday, Emmiwuks announced his arrival in Ghana through Instagram, sharing pictures and an uplifting message with his followers.

“Day 10. Project NIG2USA. Welcome to Ghana the land of warmth, rhythm, and strength,” he wrote. “A new country, a new chapter, same mission raising a voice for the displaced and the forgotten.”

He concluded his post with a strong call for unity and perseverance:

“Ghana, let’s ride this journey together. From Nigeria to the world, the movement is alive. Naija no dey carry last.”
