New Mum's Terrifying Mistake: 'I Thought I Killed My 4-Week-Old Baby'

A mother from London, Lauren Parker, has bravely shared a harrowing experience involving her four-week-old daughter, a “careless” mistake that could have had fatal consequences. Parker’s mission is now to illuminate the “terrifying side of motherhood” that often remains unspoken among parents.
The incident occurred one evening when Lauren was carrying her infant downstairs in a moses basket after bath time. As she descended, she tripped on her cat. Although Lauren managed to maintain her balance and hold onto the moses basket, she was horrified to realize that her daughter had rolled down each step of the stairs. Lauren described feeling an unprecedented level of shock, a moment where she froze and began screaming, believing her baby had died because she wasn't moving. Overwhelmed with guilt, she sat at the top of the stairs, crying.
