This absence represents the highest total of games Antetokounmpo has missed in any single season throughout his 13-year career. While the initial injury report listed the two-time MVP as questionable due to injury management of his right calf, the team later updated his status, ruling him out specifically for a left ankle sprain.
Bucks coach Doc Rivers clarified in his pregame availability that the left ankle issue originated during the Bucks' recent 112-105 loss to the Miami Heat on Thursday night. The Bucks are currently playing on consecutive days, with a home game against the Indiana Pacers scheduled for Sunday.
