Nasarawa Governor Sacks Six Commissioners in Cabinet Reshuffle

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has relieved six commissioners of their appointments as part of a cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.
The announcement was made by the Secretary to the State Government, Labaran Magaji, following the State Executive Council meeting in Lafia. The affected ministries are Works, Women Affairs, Information, Lands, Science and Technology, and Security and Sundry Matters.
According to the state government, the decision is intended to inject fresh ideas and reposition the administration for the remainder of its tenure. Magaji stressed that the move was not a reflection of poor performance, noting that the affected commissioners served diligently and made valuable contributions to the state's development. He described the reshuffle as an effort to revitalise the government's operations and enhance its ability to deliver on its mandate.
The state government disclosed that the former commissioners may still be considered for other roles within the administration, while their replacements will be announced in due course. The Executive Council also discussed strategies for increasing Nasarawa's internally generated revenue, particularly by maximising investment opportunities in the state's growing lithium sector following the recent inauguration of one of Africa's largest lithium processing plants.
