'My parents will be proud of anything I do, as long as...', says Abhishek Bachchan about Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan: 'I'm their child, they're allowed to...' - EXCLUSIVE | Hindi Movie News - Times of India
Abhishek Bachchan has been in the movies for 25 years now but in the last few years, his choices have gained a lot of appreciation - be it 'I Want To Talk' or his recent release 'Kaalidhar Laapata'. Amidst these, he was seen doing a 'Housefull 5'.
During a recent rendezvous with ETimes, as Abhishek spoke about his journey, when we asked him what his parents feel about him at this point in time, here's what the 'Guru' actor said. For those not in the know, Big B had written on his blog, "...and there is immense admiration for Abhishek. 'Mere bete, bete hone se mere uttaradhikari nahi honge; jo mere uttaradhikari honge woh mere bete honge (My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors ...
they that shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons)' – Harivansh Rai Bachchan."

When asked that his parents are really proud of him as his father says this, Abhishek reacted, "I think my father and mother would be proud of anything that I do, provided they know that I've given it my best. People forget he's also a father. For us, Amitabh Bachchan is a hero. So, we never look at it from that lens, but he's also a family man! He's a father, he's a grandfather.
For some reason we think, 'Oh no, he's not allowed to be that or be human', but he is. He's also a father, and my mother is also a mother. I'm their child. They're allowed to feel the way every other parent would feel."

Should celebrities be seen as regular people with families?
During the chat, Abhishek also spoke about how he deals with fame because he's seen that in his family. He said, "Fame is transient. I grew up with examples at home. When my father came home, he wasn't Amitabh Bachchan, he was my father. Fame aayega, jayega and you realise it with a couple of films."
