Alicia, who credits Davis with profoundly changing her life and career, posted a heartfelt tribute to Instagram on Tuesday, June 23rd, expressing her gratitude for his unwavering belief in her from the very beginning.
Keys recounted how Davis, after his departure from Arista Records, was actively seeking his next flagship artist to lead the launch of J Records.
At just 18 years old, Alicia Keys became that artist, quickly blossoming into a global sensation with her 2001 debut album, “Songs in ‘A’ Minor.”
She emphasized Davis’s consistent and genuine support throughout her career, describing it as being “full of love for how unlimited I could be!”
She cherished his description of her as a “renaissance woman,” a term that constantly reminded her to “be boundless.”
