Nancy Mungai said her daughter Lucy Wamaitha disappeared while on a work trip with her employer.
Wamaitha left home for Embu on Thursday, January 16, and went missing on the same day, as her worried mum recalled.
The mum said the employer claimed he returned with Wamaitha but the 32-year-old lady has not been seen.
"We talked with the employer, a young man who explained to me how they travelled to Embu, Chuka and Meru with my daughter. When they were coming back, they visited Java House in Embu for a meal before embarking on a journey to return to Thika. She allegedly told him to drop her at Section Two near Gatumaini," she narrated.
Mungai disclosed her daughter's phone went off at 7 pm the day she left home, adding that Wamaitha's employer's phone went off two hours later.
She claimed Wamaitha and her employer were not on good terms due to mismanagement of finances in the company.
"It was the young man who was misusing the money. The senior employers wanted to transfer the financial management responsibility to Wamaitha when they found out about the issue," Mungai said.
The mum reported the missing person report at Thika Police Station as she distributed photos of her daughter who worked with a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in her efforts to find the young lady.
Police Commander Lawrence Muchangi confirmed Mungai had visited the station and filed the missing person report.
He confirmed investigations were underway and they were doing everything possible to bring back Wamaitha.

Two people were interrogated concerning but Muchangi did not disclose the findings.
In another story, a family from Ngege village in the Suna East sub-county was in distress following the sudden disappearance of their kin.
Grado Kithine Ochola, a father of two and an employee in the Department of Agriculture and Livestock in Migori county, reportedly went missing on his way to work on Friday, January 31.
In an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke, his brother, Patrick Ochieng', revealed that Ochola left home between 9 am and 10 am, casually dressed, to deliver some documents to his office.
He was riding a red Boxer BM 150 motorcycle, registration number KMFW 574R.
However, moments later, the family received a call from a relative at the county office enquiring about Ochola’s whereabouts.
The relative said Ochola had not arrived with the documents and could not be reached on the phone.
Concerned by his unexplained delay and frequent calls from the office, the family grew more concerned.
Multiple attempts to reach him on his mobile phone were unsuccessful as his phone had been switched off. Panic set in, prompting an immediate search.
