A mum has urged parents to stop their kids from watching Peppa Pig.

Mum-of-two, Kelly Arvan from Australia, says that she made the decision after noticing a change in her toddler’s behaviour.

The issue stems from a phrase used in Peppa Pig episodes that most parents of little ones will be very familiar with. On multiple occasions, Peppa and Suzy Sheep have arguments that result in them telling each other, “You're not my best friend.”

Kelly was left shocked when she heard her three-year-old son, Kia, uttering the phrase to everyone around him.

It was only when she sat down to watch an episode of Peppa Pig with her little boy that she realised he was copying the cartoon.

Kelly said: “About a month ago, he started going around to everyone, saying: ‘You're not my best friend... You're not my best friend.’

“And he was saying it quite often and I kept saying to him, ‘Where are you learning this? That's not nice to say to someone. You're not allowed to say that anymore.’ And he stopped saying it.”

It was only when she sat down to watch an episode of Peppa Pig with her little boy that Kelly realised he was copying the cartoon.

“I hear Peppa Pig saying, ‘You're not my best friend anymore.’ I look at the TV and I look at Kia and I've just turned off Peppa Pig. I'm like, ‘You're not allowed to watch Peppa Pig anymore.’

“I'm in shock. Now I kind of see the behavioural pick ups just from seeing that. I'm actually in shock.

“'I've been seeing little things like this happened the last couple of weeks, and I'm like, ‘Where are you learning this behaviour?’

“It's bl**dy Peppa Pig.”

However, this isn’t the only issue Kelly has with the cartoon. The mum has also banned her son from watching it as she is unhappy with the way that Peppa treats her little brother, George.

She explained: “It worries me because Peppa is really mean to her little brother. My three-year-old son Kia has a seven-month-old brother Kian and he treats him so kindly and loving so I would never want Kia to get a bad influence from Peppa.”

She added: “It's a great warning for other parents who are totally oblivious like I was.”

Do you think that cartoons like Peppa Pig impact your toddler's behaviour?
