Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, is currently in Abuja, Nigeria, where he is representing President William Ruto at the ongoing African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) Annual Meetings.

The high-level summit has convened African Heads of State, senior government officials, economists, and business leaders to discuss strategies for establishing a stronger and more unified African financial architecture in the face of changing global economic dynamics.

Jacob Ng’etich, Director of Press Services in the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, stated that Mudavadi will participate in discussions on how Africa can take control of its financial narrative and align it with its priorities, especially as concessional finance continues to decline and non-traditional lenders gain influence.

On the sidelines of the main meetings, Ng’etich confirmed that the Prime Cabinet Secretary will also engage with the team behind the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) to discuss the rollout of the PAPSS Instant Payment platform and the introduction of the African Currency Marketplace—an initiative aimed at enhancing intra-African trade by simplifying cross-border transactions.

Additionally, Mudavadi is expected to meet with various African business leaders to promote Kenya as a prime destination for trade and investment, particularly in sectors such as infrastructure, innovation, and finance.
