Mr. Worldwide Makes History: Pitbull Sets Guinness Record with Bald Cap Army at BST Hyde Park!

What began as a playful tribute to Pitbull's distinctive bald head culminated in a new Guinness World Record on Friday, July 10, when the artist, famously known as Mr. Worldwide, successfully hosted the largest-ever assembly of individuals donning bald caps. During his headlining performance at BST Hyde Park in London, thousands of his devoted fans, referred to as 'Baldies,' turned up in signature Pitbull-inspired attire, complete with bald caps, aviator shades, white shirts, black ties, and fake beards – a direct homage to his appearance in the “Back in Time” music video from Men in Black 3.

Ahead of the London show, fans congregated near the main stage for the official Guinness headcount. The record-keeping organization subsequently confirmed that an impressive 22,141 people participated, establishing a new global benchmark for this unique gathering. Reports from attendees suggested the actual number of fans dressed in full Pitbull drag might have been even higher. BST Hyde Park commemorated the achievement with a social media post, stating, “WE DID IT BALD-ES! We officially set the @guinnessworldrecords for the largest gathering of bald caps with @pitbull at American Express presents @bsthydepark 2026 🙌,” accompanied by an image of Pitbull celebrating on stage with two fans instrumental in the record's success.

Pitbull had actively promoted the record attempt on his Instagram in the week leading up to the concert, providing detailed instructions to his fanbase on how to be accurately counted. He also shared videos of his female fans enthusiastically preparing their costumes and dancing to his track “Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor).” The moment the record became official was captured in a video, showing Pitbull joyously exclaiming, “We did it baldies!” after the Guinness representative announced the final count. Reflecting on the accomplishment, Pitbull expressed, “I’m speechless at this point, but I can tell you this much: I say it to the Baldies all the time at the shows, when ya’ll put on them bald caps you know you’re about to have the TIME OF YOUR LIVES! And now you’re officially in the Guinness Book of World Records. Dale!”

Speaking backstage after receiving the prestigious Guinness plaque, Pitbull emphasized the profound significance of uniting his fans for such a memorable occasion. “Who would ever thought first generation Cuban would be able to be in London record-breaking and record making, it’s history in the making,” remarked Mr. Worldwide. Beyond the Guinness high mark, Pitbull’s concert also set another park record, becoming the most-attended gig ever at Hyde Park, with officials reporting over 77,000 tickets sold.

Backed by a full band and his six 'Most Bad Ones' dancers, Pitbull's two-hour performance was a comprehensive celebration of his 'baldie baddies' and the empowering ethos of “flying high like bald eagles.” Earlier in the year, Pitbull had shared with the BBC that the enduring bald cap trend, particularly popular among his female supporters, symbolizes an impending good time. “Every time I’m at a show, I let them know that when you put on a bald cap, I hope you’re ready to have the time of your lives – it feels deeper than just music,” he explained. “It’s the ultimate trophy to be able to go on stage and see all the hard work that you put into the music. I’ve been in the game for 25 years and to see every demographic, everybody [dressing up] at the shows is priceless.”

Adding to the spectacle, special guest Kesha joined Pitbull on stage. She also sported a bald cap over her pink hair for their first live joint performance of their hit song “Timber” in 13 years. The Miami-based star additionally took a moment to honor Oasis’ “Wonderwall,” which has become an anthem for the English soccer team’s deep run in the FIFA World Cup. He addressed the audience, saying, “Being here I thought, what was the best way to represent you all. And a good friend of mine said, I think you should do this record. So, let’s not just talk about it, let’s do it …” This cover performance occurred one night before England's 'Three Lions' secured their spot in the semifinals with a 2-1 victory over Norway on Saturday, July 11; England was set to face Argentina in the second semifinal match on Wednesday, July 15.
