Mr. Eazi Powers Accra with Detty Rave 7, Pledges $2M for Local Music Scene
Detty Rave, a prominent annual entertainment event, successfully held its seventh edition in Accra, Ghana. The event took place on Spintex Road, spanning from 6:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., attracting thousands of eager attendees. Hosted by Mr Eazi, Detty Rave 7 provided a vibrant night filled with music, rich cultural experiences, and compelling visual storytelling. As a token of appreciation, the first 5,000 guests were welcomed with complimentary items upon entry.
The musical atmosphere was curated by an impressive lineup of DJs, including CiZA, Kelvin DJ, Spinall, Gingerboy, and Priyanka, who kept the energy high throughout the night. A major highlight was the 'ChopLife Soundsystem,' which truly came alive with surprise appearances from an array of renowned artists. The crowd was treated to performances by Davido, Medikal, J Hus, Shallipopi, King Promise, and Wande Coal, further elevating the night's excitement.
A recurring standout feature of Detty Rave, and once again a significant talking point, was the meticulously crafted stage design. This year's set was ingeniously built around the epic Choplife griot mask concept. Designed by Dennis Osadebe studio and brought to life through the artistry of Dotun Popoola, the structure masterfully blended African heritage with modern production techniques. This innovative design not only served as a visual spectacle but also elegantly framed every performance on the main stage.
Midway through the event, Mr Eazi made a significant announcement, pledging $2 million towards the development of both indoor and outdoor event venues in Accra. He called upon the Ghana Tourism Authority for their support in this ambitious endeavor, aiming to further boost the city's capacity for hosting world-class events.
Detty Rave 7 has received widespread praise across social media platforms for its flawless execution, strong production values, and the overall immersive experience it offered. This resounding positive feedback further solidifies its position as a leading and highly anticipated entertainment event on the African continent.
