Mount's Injury Setback: Man Utd Star Doubtful for Leeds Friendly

Mason Mount is a doubt for Manchester United’s preseason friendly against Leeds United in Dublin on Wednesday after missing two training sessions with a foot injury.

Mount was substituted after 20 minutes of United’s 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain in Gothenburg on Saturday after picking up a knock. The change was initially described as a precaution, but the midfielder did not train on Monday or Tuesday, making it unlikely that he will play against Leeds, according to ESPN’s latest injury report.

The latest injury adds to Mount’s difficult spell at United. The 27-year-old joined the club from Chelsea in 2023 and has made 72 appearances since then, with injuries repeatedly limiting his playing time.

United welcome back Martinez and Rashford

United have also had some positive news in their squad. Lisandro Martínez has joined Michael Carrick’s team in County Kildare after an extended break following Argentina’s run to the 2026 World Cup final.

Marcus Rashford has also returned after spending last season on loan at Barcelona. He has trained with the squad since arriving in Ireland.

United will face Leeds at Croke Park, with the club confirming the fixture in its official match announcement.

After Wednesday’s game, United will travel to Wroclaw, Poland, for their final preseason match against AC Milan on Saturday.

The game will bring United up against former manager Ruben Amorim, who left Old Trafford in January and later took charge of AC Milan.
